The idea to breathe underwater without an unwieldy compressed air tanks is no more a dream for science fiction writers. Now, an Israeli inventor Alon Bodner has developed a breathing apparatus that will allow user to breath underwater without compressed air tanks.
This new invention comparatively extracts small amount of air that already exists in water to supply oxygen to scuba divers and submarines. It functions on a physical law known as ‘Henry law‘ that describes gas absorption in liquids.
It operates on rechargeable batteries and one kilo lithium battery can offer one hour diving time to diver. However, this new system is still in its early stages of development due to number of limitations as compared to existing compressed air tank underwater breathing method but it has already captured the interest of most major diving manufacturers as well as the Israeli Navy.
