A team of researchers from the Tokyo Institute of Technology have developed an electromechanical bionic hand that can be used for crushing empty beverage cans.
This bionic hand comes with the can-crushing grip strength and has also emerged as first prosthetic hand with sufficient strength to crush empty cans.
It weighs only 300 grams and its grip strength ability is 33 pounds that is half the grip strength of an average man.
It is made of pulleyed cables that run through the fingers and attach at the tips of the fingers that enables the hand to open and close in only one second. To exemplify its nimbleness and power this bionic hand can also lift up small objects with its thumb and forefinger.
